Straight answers
Do I need to be technical to use this?
No. You give us your website address and we handle the rest. Every message we send is written in plain English, with no jargon or technical terms. If something needs attention, we tell you what to do, not just that something's wrong.
What if I don't know who my domain is registered with?
That's exactly the kind of thing we help you figure out. Once monitoring's on, we look up your domain automatically and tell you what registrar it's with and when it renews. If we can't find the details, we'll tell you what to search for.
How will you let me know if something's wrong?
By email. A short, plain-English message: what happened, why it matters, and what to do. You don't need to log in to anything or watch a dashboard. We come to you.
What if I have a web person who looks after my site?
Web Prospector works alongside whoever manages your site. When we spot something, you can forward the alert straight to them. You'll know exactly what the problem is, and they'll be able to fix it faster.
Do you fix problems, or just spot them?
We spot them and tell you what to do. We're not a repair service. We're the early warning system that means you find out before your customers do, and before a small problem becomes an expensive one.
Can I cancel if I don't find it useful?
Yes. If you're on the monthly plan, you can cancel any time from your dashboard, with no forms to fill in and no calls to make. The yearly plan runs for 12 months and isn't refundable, so start monthly if you want to try it first.
Does it monitor my Google listing as well as my website?
Yes. Once you connect your Google account during setup (a one-time step), we check that your Google Business listing details match your website, and alert you when new reviews arrive. You can disconnect at any time.
What if I don't have a Google Business listing?
Web Prospector still monitors everything on your website. The Google listing checks are an optional extra. If you don't have a listing, or don't want to connect it, everything else works exactly the same.
Do I need WordPress for this to work?
No. Web Prospector works with any website platform: WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, Shopify, or custom-built. WordPress sites get an additional layer of security checks, but everything else applies to all sites.
How does payment work?
You can start for free, with no card needed. When you're ready to switch on monitoring, you choose AUD $29/month or $290/year (two months free) and pay then. All prices are in Australian dollars. Cancel anytime, no lock-in.
